honestbee’s riders’ wear gets a makeover and it’s so swanky you would want to buy it

At honestbee, we are passionate about making every life moment better through food and our riders are integral in our mission to make great food experiences accessible to everyone. They are the faces of honestbee you see and interact with when you order your food or grocery from us and it is important that their welfare is taken care of – including appearance.

Conceived over 2 months by our in-house regional design team, the refreshed honestbee’s riders wear is so swanky that you would mistake it for a fashion piece. It’s not for sale though – and only available to selected honestbee riders exclusively.

“The concept was inspired from different elements such as the black and yellow bee’s stripe,  the Singapore road signs, fashion elements, and the rider’s (our bee’s) working lifestyle – always in motion.” Shared Olivier Mermet, Executive Creative Director of our regional design team.

Olivier is a seasoned and versatile design veteran with experience working for both leading global FMCG and beauty companies as well as fast-growing start-ups like honestbee. In the past 15 years, Olivier worked as a design director for Procter & Gamble and as VP, design, for Estee Lauder, driving several design aspects of the launches across Asian markets of iconic brands like Heads & Shoulders, Olay, Gillette, SKII, Clinique, Aveda, Tom Ford, Origins and Mac.

Aligning honestbee’s brand graphics with urban street sign and signage, the new riders’wear exudes vibrancy and style – the swanky look for us to stand out as Asia’s fastest growing food service company. The new design calls to mind early-1990s urban culture, driven by a youthful reinterpretation of classic American style.

Sleeves design

“Olivier and I worked like deejays while designing the jacket and trousers. We collected a bunch of images that inspired us – from the fields of  fashion, graphics, photography and even some photos that we took ourselves of road signs and markings, and started to merge them together in the hopes of finding something iconic.” Said Raghav Krishna, a designer in Olivier’s team who worked with him on the project.

Pants design

How do our most important “customers”, the delivery bees like the new wear?

You have to hear the testimonials directly from them.

“I love the new look, especially the pants as it’s hard to find rain pants with zipped pockets.”

Ashraf Iswaren, 25

“The design is cool, interesting and striking, definitely unlike the conventional raincoats that you get outside.”

Rindera Sani, 46
